Rebuilding a manufacturer’s website from scratch : a creative challenge!

This is the type of project every art director, web designer and developper dreams of working on!

Research and evaluation first

Before deciding on the creative direction and graphical approach, there was an intensive amount of ground work performed, to evaluate the existing content architecture, then by means of wire framing, present a new and improved site structure that was at the same time simple yet intuitive. Also, research was done on competitor’s web sites, which helped to better position the client’s offer, so as to better stand out as leaders in their industry.

Redesigned from the ground up

From a visual and ergonomic standpoint, everything was rethought. A fresh design was needed, but it also had to survive the test of time. This meant the site needed a trendy, modern stance, branded with the established corporate colours and strong typography that follows legibility best practices.

Ease of use when navigating the website was a priority. We wanted to create a simple and intuitive environment where the visitors could find the information they are looking for within one or two clicks.

Responsive web design

Nowadays, with the multiplication of smatphones, tablets and now “phablets”, the cross between smartphones and tablets, you need at least a responsive website, that will automatically adjust to your devices screen.

The site is built on cutting edge, modern web technologies that will facilitate futur updates as well as provide the client with a simple method to add fresh content.

Online soon

As I’m writing this article, the newly redesigned website is not online yet, so we cannot show it. It is also worth mentioning that this brand new website, quite large in scope, will have only taken 3 months to create, develop and publish.  Quite an achievement for Exo!

Follow our blog and I’ll reveal the name of the site in my next article.
